Varibox Makes It to The 2016 Inventor’s Garage Competition Finals

Varibox was recently selected as a finalist in the 2016 Inventor’s Garage Competition and had the opportunity to exhibit at the SA Innovation Summit Expo which was held at the Birchwood Hotel between the 22nd and the 24th of September 2016.

 

During this premier innovation event, Varibox showcased its Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) inventions including their flagship ROTORcvt, high torque and power application called the icvt as well as the newly patented RADIALcvt. The company also had the opportunity to network with various innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and thought leaders in the field of engineering, science and business.

 

Speaking after the event, Varibox MD Dr Jan Naude said, “Making it to the finals of the 2016 Inventor’s Garage Competition is a honour  for Varibox  and helps the company to achieving its objective of being an industry leader in the gearbox industry.”

 

Dr Naude added that, “During the event, Varibox got an opportunity to look at ways of tapping into different markets, make connections and expose our inventions to key funders. Exhibiting in the SA Innovation Summit’s Market on the Edge .

 

The annual Inventor’s Garage Competition is organised by the SA Innovation Summit. For the 2016 leg, organisers invited inventors with working prototypes or products from proven concepts to take part. The competition is aimed at giving inventors much needed exposure, expert advice, mentorship and opportunities for possible partnerships.
